The LaReine Science & Innovation Center at Bishop McNamara High School

Yesterday - Today - Tomorrow

A Video History of BMHS & LRHS,
and the NEW La Reine Science & Innovation Center

As we look forward to the next 50 years of providing our students with a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum centered on educational excellence, combined with access to a comprehensive range of fine and performing arts, athletics, and activities in a dynamic, inclusive Catholic school community rooted in the Holy Cross tradition, we seek partners like you to help us realize this vision for the future of Bishop McNamara High School.

The La Reine Science & Innovation Center will enable Bishop McNamara High School to serve as an important resource and pipeline for underrepresented populations in STEM fields; including women, minorities and students at or below the poverty line through a new program of scholarship and financial aid support.

As a co-anchor of the region with Joint Base Andrews, Bishop McNamara High School is committed to also providing scholarship support for students of military service families to take advantage of this extraordinary learning environment.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the La Reine Science & Innovation Center will enable students and faculty to experiment and create in open work areas and “makerspaces.” Flexible classrooms will promote teamwork and active learning. Welcoming common areas will extend the collaborative environment to the broader community of learners. The result will be a facility that offers unprecedented opportunities for students to explore, create, imagine and discover.

The La Reine Science & Innovation Center will be a game changer, not only for Bishop McNamara students, but for the Prince George’s County community as a whole. We know that STEM education is critical to ensuring our young people can compete professionally after high school.
