Dear BMHS & LRHS Alumni from the Classes of 70, 80, 90, 00, and 10:
With Governor Hogan's and County Executive Alsobrooks' recent announcements that the State of Maryland and Prince George's County have instituted measures to reduce crowd sizes in indoor spaces in response to the spread of COVID-19 throughout the State of Maryland and Prince George's County, the Advancement Office has decided to cancel the Stay-At-Home Virtual Reunion for the Bishop McNamara and La Reine Classes of 1970, 80, 90, 00, and 10.
Bishop McNamara High School’s ongoing commitment to prioritizing the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, friends, and alumni like you encouraged us to pivot from the norm of in-person, on campus events to a re-imagined Stay-At-Home Virtual Reunion celebration made accessible to our alumni through a virtual event for the Bishop McNamara and La Reine Classes of 1970, 80, 90, 00, and 10.
The production of this virtual event required a number of participants among faculty, staff, and students, thus these new guidelines prompted the decision to cancel this event.
The Advancement Office has contacted directly those alumni who had registered for this event.
Registration was set at $25 and all proceeds were designated to the Bishop McNamara Family Support Fund to help families and students impacted by COVID-19.
If you have any questions or need to update your contact information, please contact the Director for Mission Advancement Dr. Robert Van der Waag at email@example.com or (301) 735-8401, ext. 158.
Thank you Bishop McNamara and La Reine Classes of 1970, 80, 90, 00, and 10 for your generous support of the school. We are disappointed that we have to cancel this first of its kind alumni event, but the safety and well-being of our entire #BMHSFamily remains our commitment and priority.
Please know that we are happy to work with you to further future reunion plans here on campus or off-site when it is deemed safe to hold large in person gatherings. Again, thank you for your support!
May God bless you and keep everyone safe during this difficult time.
