As the Class of 2021 crossed the stage at Prince George's Stadium Wednesday, June 2, 2021, to receive their diplomas, the Catholic Standard released an inspiring interview of our very own Aliyah Thomas '21 featured in their special series: Stories of Hope, Faith, and Perseverance.

Aliyah, third in the line of a legacy at Bishop McNamara, sadly lost her mother to a battle with cancer just as she was to start high school. Even before she stepped on campus she was known and loved by the BMHS community. The faculty and staff reached out to support Aliyah as she progressed through her time here. She reflects on her mother's death, her four years at BMHS and her choice to help others deal with difficult challenges in life by becoming a psychologist.

This is a very inspiring article, written by Catholic Standard correspondent, Patricia Zapor.
