Congratulations to Bishop McNamara alumnus, Arthur J. Horne, Jr. ‘79, who received the Honorable James H. Taylor Award from the Prince George’s County Bar Association for his years of dedication and commitment to the law and the Prince George’s County community. The award is named after the first black circuit court judge and a courageous trailblazer in Prince George's County.
Arthur is the past Board Chair of Bishop McNamara High School, the President and Managing Partner of Shipley & Horne, P.A., and has been practicing law for more than twenty five years.
Arthur received his BA from the University of Alabama and his JD from Georgetown University. He has been named One of the Top Minority Business Leaders in the Washington D.C. Region, Living Legend of Maryland Attorneys by the Associated Black Charities, NAACP Image Award Winner for Legal Service, Prince Georgian of the Year, and the United Way Service Award Winner.
Mr. Horne dedicates professional and community service to various organizations including Bishop McNamara and the American Red Cross.
