Nate currently takes challenging STEM classes at Bishop McNamara, including Advanced Placement Chemistry, Honors Calculus, and Foundations of Engineering. He is a member of National English Honor Society and the Aviation Club, and participates in the WCAC as a Varsity Soccer player.
The ACE Mentor Program of Greater Washington Metropolitan Area, Inc., through an interest in community students extending to their eventual successful education and employment in the design and construction industry, provides college scholarships to selected graduates. To date, they have awarded $328,000 in college scholarships to 98 high school graduates. In addition to scholarships, mentor firms offer summer jobs to qualified students, and universities keep in close touch with our program to identify potential applicants for admission.
Congratulations, Nate for college and beyond!

More information on ACE Mentor Program
Started in 2000, the ACE Mentor Program of the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area, Inc. (ACE DC) is a partnership of architects, construction managers, engineers, designers, professional societies and organizations, high schools and universities.
Through this partnership, we provide mentors who guide student teams from the District of Columbia, northern Virginia and Maryland public schools as they explore educational and career opportunities in architecture, construction and engineering. The teams meet every other week after school.
The teams meet every other week after school, or more frequently depending on student interest. During our program year (October - May), each of ACE DC's multi-disciplinary teams tailors its program to inform, challenge and actively engage its members.
Team activities include:
Construction site tours
Professional office visits
Guided excursions to college campuses
"Hands-on" projects designed to help students learn architecture, engineering and construction industry fundamentals
The program year concludes with formal team project presentations at the American Institute of Architects' national headquarters in Washington, D.C. Following presentations, we award completion to all students and mentors.
