Senior Reggie Wilson Earns Full ROTC Scholarship
Posted 04/12/2018 06:00AM

BMHS Senior Reggie Wilson has received a full ROTC scholarship to Morgan StateOur congratulations to Bishop McNamara senior Reggie Wilson who has been awarded a full tuition scholarship to Morgan State University to study Civil Engineering through the Army ROTC program, with additional grant awards for room and board at MSU.

How does he feel about a career in the Army? Reggie, who is proud of the ARMY legacy in his family, is excited about his future. He would like a leadership career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

"I know I am a born leader," Reggie told us. "I know I was born to do something great!" His interest in engineering was something that he has been developing, especially over the past four years here at Bishop McNamara through Engineering classes, alumni mentors and his membership in the ACE Mentoring Program (Architecture, Construction, Engineering). The ACE Mentoring Program provides students with exposure to practicing career professionals, exciting projects, informative field trips and activities that enhance the ACE experience. Recently, Reggie was thrilled to participate in an Engineering Fun Day at the University of Maryland College Park where he was given hands-on exposure to robotics and engineering through the program at UMD.

In addition to engineering specific curriculum and activities, Reggie, an honor student, is a BMHS Peer Minister, plays Varsity Tennis, and has taken Advanced Placement and Honors level classes in Cisco Networking, Chemistry, History, Biology, French and Band.

In addition to his engineering curriculum in the fall, Reggie will have ROTC two times per week which includes classes and fitness programs to prepare him for the military at graduation.

We offer congratulations to Reggie and wish him well in his college and professional career.
