The Class of 2019 celebrated their Junior Commissioning Service, a night that marks the significant time in the life of a junior student at Bishop McNamara High School, on Thursday, February 1st at Mt. Calvary Church followed by a reception in the Andy Mona Student Center.
We believe that every Bishop McNamara student is a leader. Upperclassmen have the specific responsibility and privilege of serving as role models for the BMHS student body. At this ceremony we challenge our junior students to be Christian leaders that strive "to think with Christ." Juniors will receive a blessing and be sent out or "commissioned" as school leaders for their final three semesters.
Students will have the opportunity to have a item (school ring, family or spiritual item) of special significance blessed during the ceremony. A reception provided by the sophomore class follows the event in the Andy Mona Student Center.
Junior Class President, Chance Crockett, spoke to his fellow classmates encouraging them to be leaders for the school and the community. Here is Chance's inspiring speech.
Thank you to the Campus Ministry Office for their planning of this remarkable event. For more information on the Junior Commissioning, contact the Director of Campus Ministry, Peter Sanneman at 240-455-9627 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
