Congratulations to Jacob Werzinsky ’18 who will be attending Darmouth College as a QuestBridge Scholar on a full scholarship. Jacob, a senior class member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Science National Honor Society while he maintains a full load of Advanced Placement classes, wants to go into computer engineering. He was looking at such esteemed institutions as Harvard, Yale, MIT, UPenn as well as Dartmouth.
At the recommendation of his BMHS college counselor, Ms. Jennifer Auchmoody, Jacob says he applied through the QuestBridge Program to twelve (12) colleges and universities. He said the application process through QuestBridge “involved extended college applications with essays and teacher recommendations” for each of the twelve he chose. The application process opened in the summer before his senior year, allowing him time to research the college partners, and then submit his free applications and other materials by late September.
The QuestBridge National College Match is a college and scholarship application process that helps outstanding high school seniors in need gain admission and full four-year scholarships to the nation's most selective colleges. Students who have achieved academic excellence in the face of economic challenges are encouraged to apply. QuestBridge's college partners are committed to making college affordable for all students — regardless of financial background — and offer generous financial aid packages that cover 100% of demonstrated financial need.
Jacob was matched with several outstanding colleges, deciding to choose the Computer Engineering program at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, where he will start in August of 2018.
Congratulations, Jacob and good luck at Dartmouth!
