"Unfortunately I could not make the prayer service for Mr. Goyette on December 8th. I was not a direct classroom student, although he was my principal. Mr. Goyette encouraged me to participate in the England exchange in 1994, which I was always be grateful for. He was always very engaging and concerning of my well being and progression in the classroom. I appreciated that he recognized me and my personality without me necessarily being his classroom student. I had many friends who were in his class and the impact he had on them I still hear and see today. Mr. Goyette as a principal was very fair and while we were expected to follow the rules, I also felt that he recognized at times when my friends and I were just being teenagers or kids and allowed us to enjoy the high school experience. The best years of my life are still to the day from 1992-1996 at McNamara under his leadership. He was a great man."
