The retreat program is designed to provide opportunities for spiritual formation that are appropriate to the developmental level of the students and challenge them to deepen their commitments to faith, compassion and justice.
The Freshman Retreat is a part of the orientation process and focuses on introducing students to the BMHS Holy Cross heritage and our values of faith, family, and diversity. The Sophomore Retreat is an off-campus retreat in which students will focus on the pillar of "building respect" and exploring their identities as people and as children of God. Juniors attend the Kairos retreat, which is focused on relationships with God, self, and others, consisting of 3 days and 2 nights at an off-site retreat house. The Senior Retreat provides an opportunity for the entire class to come together on a day-long retreat in a spirit of prayer.

Sophomore Retreat News and Information
The Sophomore Retreats will be held on Monday-Tuesday, April 8-9 and Tuesday-Wednesday, April 9-10, 2019. Half of the sophomore class will attend the retreat starting on the 8th. The other half of the class will attend the retreat starting on the 9th. This retreat is a single overnight event. Students will leave after school on the first day (3:20pm) and return at the end of the following school day (3:05pm).
The Kairos experience is a 3 day, 2 night opportunity to literally retreat (“get away”) from every-day life in order to focus on one’s own personal relationship with God. It involves talks by adults and senior student Peer Ministers, small group discussions, prayer times, and free time. The graces we seek on the Kairos retreat are that each student will have a transformative encounter with God, deepen his or her sense of self-worth, and grow in gratitude, clarity, and self-knowledge. These graces are sought both through the student’s personal prayer and reflection, and also in his/her relationships with others.
The Junior Kairos Retreat preference google form will be sent out to all Juniors and is due back in early September (check announcements for details about the specific date). At that time, all juniors will be scheduled for one of the four Kairos retreats happening during the school year based on their preferences and on time conflicts between different school-sponsored activities. Subsequently, any student wanting to change his/her retreat needs to find a fellow junior that is willing to swap places. Those students then need to come to the Campus Ministry office to make the change official.
Four Kairos retreats will be offered during the 2018-2019 school year. Dates are listed below:
Kairos 43: October 17-19, 2019
Kairos 44: November 14-16, 2019
Kairos 45: January 23-25, 2019
Kairos 46: March 6-8, 2019
