Craig Glover-Hines '09 has been recognized by Bishop McNamara High School not only for his services as a member of our faculty, but also for his commitment to faith and the moral character he exudes, which serves as a source of inspiration to his students, colleagues and friends alike.
Recently, Craig released his book entitled: P's and Q's: The Journey to Becoming Prime Quality in which the characters of Potential and Mr. Prime discuss fears, hopes, dreams - and most important of all, faith - and how they are woven into the journey of life.
While promoting his book, Craig has been pursuing his graduate education while still continuing to serve as a teacher at Bishop McNamara High School, working mainly with freshmen and helping them to acclimate to BMHS life. As an alumnus of the School, Craig feels a distinct connection to his students and uses his personal experiences to help them through their own fears and obstacles - helping them to become their Prime Selves.
Most recently, in further efforts to support students at Bishop McNamara, Craig has partnered with the School to form a brand new scholarship opportunity - the P's and Q's Scholarship! Like his book, the scholarship is named in honor of his late grandfather, Mr. Thomas Glover, who was an incredible role model for Craig and always reminded him to "mind his P's and Q's" - he continues to influence Craig to this very day. The scholarship will be offered to a rising sophomore of strong character and faith, who demonstrates the qualities exhibited by the Four Pillars of Holy Cross.
"[Student] behavior becomes a reflection of how strong their belief is, and they grow in confidence, they grow in respect, they grow in character. I really want them to develop those internal values because I think those shine the most," said Craig. "When those are intact, it makes everything else that much brighter."
Craig was emotionally moved and honored to partner with Bishop McNamara for this scholarship opportunity. He joked that he "wished that God would give him a few more adjectives" to use to describe the depth of his feelings, but he is very grateful and humbled not only by the love and support he himself has received, but also for the chance to be the driving force behind this scholarship opportunity to provide financial support for students and help them receive a Bishop McNamara High School education.
"The most pivotal moment in your life will be when you truly believe that you have potential. That moment is so powerful because your belief is what provokes your purpose and that is what starts igniting your passions. Once your passions are ignited, you become driven and the desire to discover the promises over your life turn into a priority, making your prime the place of peace you never stop pursuing." -Excerpt from pg. 67 of P's and Q's: The Journey to Becoming Prime Quality
