The Fine Arts Department at Bishop McNamara: Offering one of the most extensive and distinguished fine arts education programs in the Washington, D.C. area.

At Bishop McNamara, the Fine Arts are more than a collection of classes. They are a place where creativity, collaboration, and artistic excellence thrive. As one of the most comprehensive high school Fine Arts programs in the Washington, D.C. region, we inspire students to discover their talents, find their voice, and grow as artists, leaders, and lifelong learners.

Creativity and self-expression are woven throughout the Bishop McNamara experience, both in and beyond the classroom. Students explore their passions through courses and performance opportunities in Band, Broadcast Journalism & Film Production, Chorus, Classical Dance, Traditional African Dance & Music, Orchestra, Theatre, and Visual Arts.

Guided by accomplished professional artists and dedicated educators, our Fine Arts program challenges students to create with purpose, perform with confidence, and cultivate a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
