Peer Ministry

Peer Ministry is an elective Theology course for students in their senior year. Approximately 35 students are selected through an application process during the spring of junior year. The application includes reflection questions, approval by a parent or guardian, a reference form completed by an employee, and an interview with the Campus Ministers.

Students who are selected for the Peer Ministry program and choose to enter it spend their entire Senior year in a course primarily focused on their personal growth as communicators, leaders, and persons of faith and justice.  Although the course is the central focus of the Peer Ministry program, students also attend a Peer Ministry Retreat in August, mentor the freshman class through visits to their Theology classes, set up and usher for several of the school Liturgies, and serve as student leaders at the Junior Kairos Retreat.

The Peer Ministry Discernment Process begins in January of each year. Juniors interested in applying for Peer Ministry will need to attend an informational session to receive the discernment handbook and application.

Information sessions for the Class of 2021 will be held in the Moreau Chapel on Monday, January 13, 2020, Tuesday, January 14, 2020, and Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Any junior wanting to learn more about Peer Ministry or wanting to apply must attend one of these sessions. They will last approximately 25 minutes. If, for some reason, a student is unable to attend any of these sessions, but wishes to apply to Peer Ministry, s/he must come, in person, to speak with Ms. Saunders or Mr. Sanneman to receive an application.
