March 20, 2019

Tiana Myers '08 helped aid the Lady Mustangs in winning the WCAC basketball championship in 2008, and has continued her record of athletic excellence ever since! Thanks to her hard work and dedication on the court, Tiana received a full scholarship to play college basketball for George Washington University. She was a four-year starter for the Colonials and a three-year team captain, scoring more than 1,000 points and earning the title of MVP twice during her time at the university. Not only did she maintain a stellar record on the court, but Tiana also excelled in her academics, being named to the dean's list and serving on the student-athlete advisory committee. In 2014 she graduated from Northwestern University with a Master's degree in sports administration.

"The values I learned while attending Bishop McNamara are instilled in me to this very day," Tiana said. "To whom much is given, much is required."

While Tiana plans to attain a leadership role in the athletics industry one day, the Holy Cross ideals that she learned at Bishop McNamara will forever remain with her. She went on to say that the School and its rigorous curriculum were part of the reason that she was so well-prepared for college.

"McNamara has always been committed to their students and providing the best opportunities for each person to become a better person holistically," she said.

Tiana encouraged current students, and alumni as well, to be unafraid of being their best, most authentic selves.

We can't wait to see how you change the face of the athletics industry, Tiana!
