Bishop McNamara High School Tuition Grant Program

Application Deadline was December 21st, 2018

  • Applications submitted/completed after December 21, 2018 will be considered in the SECOND round of allocations in the spring, if funds remain available.
  • Families must apply on-line and submit the necessary supporting documentation directly to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment.
  • Paper applications are not available.

Parent Service Hours

  • Families are required to perform 10 hours of volunteer service to Bishop McNamara High School each school year. 
  • The year ends on April 30, 2019.
  • The parent/guardian will be required to pay a $40 fee for each service hour not completed. 
  • This is considered a financial obligation to the school.
  • Service hours do not carry over from one year to the next.

Overnight Field Trips

  • The BMHS Handbook states: "Students whose tuition is not up-to-date will not be allowed to attend overnight field trips."
  • Applies to all school trips ~ class related, fine arts, sports, service projects, etc.

Counseling Center 

Please check the Counseling Center page at BMHS Counseling for student enrichment opportunities, college fairs, college visits, and work shops. Now is the time to begin thinking about what your student is doing over the summer.  As part of a college-prep high school we believe that it is important that your student participate in meaningful summer enrichment opportunities, internships, and/or jobs.

College Visits now open to the Class of 2020!

  • We encourage them to begin creating a list of colleges in which they are interested.
  • Students sign up via their Naviance account.
  • See Mrs. Mendiolia if they need assistance.

 Resource Help

  • Students having trouble in a particular class may always speak with their teacher to schedule extra help during Resource periods, PRIME Time Office Hours, before or after school.
  • The Counseling Center offers a Peer Tutoring program. Interested students should speak with his/her counselor to be matched with an appropriate peer tutor.
  • The Math Deparment offers regular after school help:

All financial obligations must be satisfied before records will be released. Contact our registrar, Ms. Shannon Brown, to request records. At least 48 hours of advance notice is needed to produce official or unofficial records for any student.

Nurse's Notes

When your student is sick, please keep them home when they:

  • complain about feeling hot and cold
  • are extremely tired and have body aches
  • are vomiting or have diarrhea
  • have a distracting pain from a headache, ear ache, sore throat or recent injury
  • have yellow or green drainage from their eye

 Students with a fever need to stay home until they are fever free

for 24 hours without the use of Tylenol or Ibuprofen.

All spring athelets must have a current physical uploaded on their Magnus account!

How To Access Your Magnus Account: 

  1. Log into MACCESS  - Note: you must log into MACCESS to get to your forms. Problems logging into MACCESS? Email support@bmhs.org
  2. Click on Burgundy Tab: Magnus Health
  3. This will automatically take you to Magnus Website
  4. You will see your student's name, a message in red, then an orange rectangle that says complete now - click "Complete Now"
  5. All your forms to be completed will appear
  6. Click on each one and follow the instructions
