ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT

Tiffany Reid Bell '00 is living the ideals of faith and service held so dear to Bishop McNamara High School. Currently she is working as a licensed therapist in North Carolina, and she is also the Program Director at a nonprofit in the area working with domestic violence offenders.

"I was recently appointed to the North Carolina Domestic Violence Commission as a Provider of Offender Treatment," she said. "This commission advises the NC Legislature on trends and recommendations regarding domestic violence in the state."

Tiffany said that her work allows her to hold domestic violence offenders accountable for their actions, while at the same time provide them with the skills to be non-violent and respectful in the future. Her role is vital in helping these offenders understand that such violent behavior is not acceptable, and that they need to learn how to better themselves and treat others with love and kindness. Truly she is teaching them Christian values - she is thinking with Christ each day through her tireless work and effort.

We are so proud to hear about this admirable work that you're doing, Tiffany! We would love to hear more as you continue to thrive in your career and in your service to the community.

Support the #LaReineLivingLegacy

Oct. 16, 2018 marks the commencement of the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters 125th anniversary as a religious order in the United States. To mark this important anniversary, Bishop McNamara High School launches the #LaReineLivingLegacy Giving Campaign, a special fundraising initiative to support the La Reine Historical Display area in the new La Reine Science & Innovation Center.

Presided over by the Blessed Mother statue that stood in the original La Reine High School, this special display area will be located at one of the Center's two main entrances and will feature special items donated from La Reine alumnae such as uniforms, class rings, photographs, and more.

The Bernardine Franciscan Sisters recently contributed $100,000 towards our $500,000 goal to name this very special historical space in the new building. Gifts from La Reine alumnae combined with the Bernardine Franciscan Sister's generous gift will create a living legacy in the La Reine Science & Innovation Center for generations to come!

We ask all La Reine alumnae to give to the #LaReineLivingLegacy Giving Campaign.

Thank you for Supporting our
5K for the Arts!

The Bishop McNamara High School administrators, staff and teachers partnered with students, parents, family and friends to spend Saturday, Oct. 13 running or walking at the Annual 5K for the Arts, held at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro, MD.

The centerpiece of our vision for the future is the establishment of the La Reine Science & Innovation Center at Bishop McNamara High School.
