Softball - JV Girls

The BMHS Softball program has two levels of play: Varsity and Junior Varsity. The team rosters carry between 12 and 15 players on each team. Both teams practice on campus after school on our softball field. The team competes in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC), an extremely competitive conference in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Graduates from this conference have gone on to play college softball at all levels.

Tryout performance and speed.
Desire and responsibility
Aggressive team play and individual play
Coachability
Athletic ability and coordination
Softball knowledge
Team needs

Player Priority Schedule is:

1. GOD, 2. FAMILY, 3. ACADEMICS, 4. BMHS SOFTBALL

Wes Cooper

Coach

Mr. Wesley Cooper has over 10 years experience coaching Softball at the Varsity and National Travel levels, with an additional 8 years of Head coaching experience in High School Baseball. Mr. Cooper holds current NFHS certification as a Softball Umpire in the Washington area. Mr. Cooper served as an assistant for 6 years to the two previous BMHS Softball coaches.

Coach Cooper is a retired Navy and an enterprise architect of Cloud infrastructure. All 3 of his children graduated from BMHS and his daughter and assistant coach, Raina (2017), is the only All-Met BMHS Softball player with a banner hanging in the gym. Coach Cooper’s passion is empowering student-athletes to maximize their potential through softball.
