struggles and challenges that come with this role. It's a role many of us do not sign up for, but we play the hand life has dealt us.
During my daughter's freshman year, an unexpected blessing came in the form of Project Pride scholarships. So overwhelmed with gratitude, I vowed to pay it forward helping the next single parent that had no clue how it would work but manages to keep moving forward. I decided to establish a scholarship in honor of my single parent hero, which is my mom, Carrie Mallory. She may not feel deserving of this honor, but I want her to know how appreciative I am for all that she did to ensure I am the woman you see today. I also pray that my giving back will inspire my daughter to always help when she can with what she can. Life pulls you in many directions leaving one uncertain how to navigate, but hold tight to your faith, do your best to keep moving forward and contribute to your village."
