Middleton Scholars Program
Program Overview
The Middleton Scholars Program provides selected students at Bishop McNamara High School with a strong support community through guidance, mentorship, and generous financial aid.
BMHS Record of Student Achievement
The Middleton Scholars Program seeks to build on Bishop McNamara’s tremendous record of accomplishment as the school boasts a 100% graduation rate with approximately 99% of students matriculating at the college level, including such elite institutions such as Georgetown University, Yale University, Howard University, The United States Naval Academy, Hampton University, The University of Virginia, and The University of Notre Dame. The school’s achievements on these fronts far exceed national averages, particularly in relationship to secondary institutions with predominantly minority student populations.
The Middleton Scholars Program Today & Tomorrow
The Middleton Scholars Program today serves 18 students and is led by its Director Ms. Laura Keller. Bishop McNamara looks to have at least 40 Middleton Scholars by the 2020-2021 school year.
The Middleton Scholars Program was founded in 2018 because the school community believes that the time has come to recruit and sustain students living in the region, and throughout southeastern Prince George’s County, as paramount to our mission to educate hearts and minds in a dynamic, inclusive Catholic school community rooted in the Holy Cross tradition.
