Honors

For students seeking an even more challenging learning experience, Bishop McNamara High School offers a broad selection of honors courses that fulfill basic graduation requirements in English, Social Studies, Math, and Science as well as additional honors courses in Fine Arts, Technology, and Modern & Classical Languages.

Our Honors courses are advanced courses designed to provide a challenging curriculum to motivated students with strong interests in particular subject areas. The curriculum in each of our Honors courses includes appropriate adaptations for accelerated and enriched learning for pursuing in-depth studies that require abstract and higher-order thinking skills. 

Honors courses provide expectations and opportunities for students to work independently at an accelerated pace, to engage in more rigorous and complex content and processes, and to develop authentic products that reflect students' understanding of key concepts.
