In this issue of the Mustang Messenger we are celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Bishop McNamara High School educating the hearts and minds of over 14,000 students in Holy Cross tradition. In addition to this remarkable anniversary, we proudly announce that Bishop McNamara has been recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School, receiving the "exemplary high-performing" designation. Our STEM programs continue to expand and grow offering opportunities for our students in many fields including robotics. Our students recently engaged in an innovative project for Carnegie Mellon called the "Robot Olympics." Read how our treasured alumnus, Jason Reynolds, has been recognized by MacArthur Foundation receiving the prestigious MacArthur Fellow Award. We will also share the Bishop McNamara High School 2023-2024 Annual Report with you in this edition and so much more!

In 1962, the Holy Cross Brothers established Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, Maryland, at a time when the nation was grappling with significant social change.

On October 5, 2024, the Bishop McNamara High School community gathered at Fort Washington State Park in Maryland for the annual BMHS 5K for the Arts fundraiser.
