At Bishop McNamara High School, being family is more than just an expression – it is a mantra. A watchword. A solemn promise from every student, parent, teacher, staff member, coach, administrator, moderator, and anyone else here to love each other as Christ taught us to love each other. Rooted in the Gospel teachings of Jesus Christ, the Catholic Church and the mission of Holy Cross, we strive every day to care for one another and to help one another grow in an environment of love, support and high expectations.
From the moment new incoming freshmen arrive on campus to a crowd of upperclassmen welcoming them home with cheers and open arms, to the moment when seniors walk out of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on graduation day with their diplomas in hand amid the crowd of hugs from family, friends and educators, and then, that moment when they return home again as our cherished alumni, Bishop McNamara students are loved as family every step of the way. In celebrating the successes and coaching through the mistakes of students, artists, athletes and volunteers, young people grow and learn in an environment that makes the school feel like a home.
Here at Bishop McNamara, young people are helped to be the best students and Christian citizens that they can be – to help the McNamara family extend beyond the walls of our buildings and out into our global society. It is our mission that students bring the familial love which they experience here into the world, in the words of Blessed Fr. Basil Moreau, CSC, “to make God known, loved and served.” connectivity to Ascendance, My BackPack and Radius has been resolved and all modules are operational at this time.
