Our Philosophy
Bishop McNamara High School, a Catholic, independent, college-preparatory high school, provides wide-ranging and evolving curricular and co-curricular activities for students to learn in an inclusive and dynamic school community.
The School integrates this faith message, rooted in the Holy Cross tradition, within all its activities by relating the Gospel to content areas, by the living example of its employees, by partnership with families, and by service to the wider world.
BMHS DEI Mission Statement
As disciples with Hope to Bring, Bishop McNamara advances Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity, by:
- Writing policies and practices that ensure accessibility and champion the diversity and identity of our school community.
- Confronting and reshaping mindsets, beliefs, and practices to be biased towards justice.
- Providing space for all members of our community to be seen, heard, valued, and to belong.
The seal of the Congregation of Holy Cross is represented by a cross surmounted at its base by two anchors, the Christian symbol of hope.
The words "Ave Crux, Spes Unica" mean "Hail the Cross, Our Only Hope."
