This past weekend a group of Bishop McNamara High School students got an exclusive opportunity to tour both NBC4 News Station and The Washington Post. Monique Hayes, wife of Ashton McCullers '90, provided a tour for students and faculty/staff members Charles Shryock IV and Katie White at NBC4 – while The Washington Post staff writer DeNeen Brown provided a tour for the group at The Washington Post. DeNeen was the first reporter to break a story about Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Mo.

"I really love talking to young journalists," said Monique. "They inspire me and keep me young at heart."

Included in the group of students who toured NBC4 and The Washington Post were Wesley Bowers '17, Jabari Ferrell '17, Ian Lynch '17, Zane Mosby '20, Kendyl Peoples '20, Jaylen Strong '17 and Noah Whitaker '18. Noah was recently featured for attending the Urban Journalism Workshop.
