Academic Departments

The academic departments at Bishop McNamara High School are designed to graduate students who are skilled critical thinkers, problem solvers, creative innovators, and collaborative learners. We foster these skills of developing the minds and hearts of our life-long learners by providing access to a curriculum with a variety of course offerings that will support the creativity and curiosity of all students. Our rigorous academic curriculum includes 163 courses of which 50 are honors and 17 are Advanced Placement (AP). In addition, our students are enriched with unique opportunities to learn beyond the classroom by traveling abroad to experience the life and learning of other cultures.

The following are the Bishop McNamara Academic departments: English, Fine Arts, Mathematics, Modern & Classical Language, Physical Education & Health, Science & Technology, Social Studies, and Theology, as well as the St. Joseph Program for students with Learning Differences.

For more information on each department, select from the list in the navigation menu to the left.

Educators must by guided always by the sentiments of a heart filled with compassionate goodness.

-- Blessed Father Basil Moreau
