The Circuit 7 Championship Mock Trial team was honored during the day, and we are proud to announce that the winner was none other than Bishop McNamara High School! Circuit 7 features competitors from Prince George's, Charles, Calvert and St. Mary's counties. This year's theme for Law Day, which is celebrated nationally, was The Fourteenth Amendment. Proposed in response to issues related to former slaves after the American Civil War, The Fourteenth Amendment addresses citizenship rights and equal protection under the law. The superlative awards were also presented and Bishop McNamara captured 3 of the 6 Most Outstanding awards designations, outlined as follows:

Ayanna McCarley '20 - Most Outstanding Prosecution Witness
Khelli Sinkfield-Scarbor '17 - Most Outstanding Defense Witness
Kennedy Harmon '19 - Most Outstanding Overall Attorney

For more information on the BMHS Mock Trial Team, contact Mrs. Charmayne Clark at Charmayne.Clark@bmhs.org and view Mock Trial information at BMHS Professional Clubs.

Last year Bishop McNamara was ranked second in Circuit 7 for Mock Trial, so this achievement is especially incredible. Congratulations to this year's Mock Trial team and the team moderator, Mrs. Charmayne Sugars Clark '85!
